I’m a bit of a freak as far as the movie The Departed goes and after the Golden Globes I found this little gem on ebay (with all these signatures: Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg, Ray Winstone, Alec Baldwin, Anthony Anderson, Howard Shore, Martin Scorcese) and kissed my $122 goodbye. What immediately caught my attention was the instant opening of another auction for the same item I had just bought. Getting an instant feeling of buyer’s remorse, I asked a few questions and got this reponse:
Bill,
Hi, thank you for your purchase.
Not certain on the exact number we have left. My partners said they knew we had this one. We just donated most of them to charities, and the remainder we’re selling on ebay.
I never know how many they have or what they’re going to sell until they pull it out of the vault and tell me to list it.
We’re you interested in buying another? Or just the one? Plese let us know.
Thanks.

The part that bothers me the most (besides that fact that all the signatures look like the same person did them) is that everything is signed LAStargazing. Every reputable business I’ve ever dealt with has always signed correspondence with their name and not their email address. The only shred of hope that I have to this item’s authenticity is the thought that this guy isn’t stupid enough to rip me off and give me his home address on the mailing label, which by the way is:
So what do I do? I’m gonna keep the poster and frame it and tell everyone it’s legit (luckily no one reads this piece of shit), but should I burn the motherfucker via ebay feedback? I can’t prove it’s fraudulent, can I?
