I recently went on a rant against Time Warner cable (hey!, what’s the internet for then?) and went as far to say that I hate them. Within 24 hours of that post, Time Warner’s social media jedi Jeff Simmermon (or as he’s officially known, Director of Digital Communication) had taken care of the problem. This is an amazing testament to the power of the internet and how connected we all really are. I would like to downgrade my “hate” level to just a “dislike.” Thanks Jeff and thanks Time Warner for having the foresight to have a Director of Digital Communications (eliminate the call centers and increase his operating budget and I may even downgrade from the “dislike” status).

a message sent to Time Warner Cable:
Hello,
I get at least 1 call every day on my cell phone from 877-546-4823. I know this is someone from Time Warner calling and I would like it to stop immediately.
Every month I pay an exorbitant amount of money for my cable and internet service. This is something I have come to terms with as unfortunately you are the only company that can provide this in my current location. I will continue to be a customer because of this, but I will not tolerate daily harassment.
No, I do not want to upgrade my account with any more of the over-priced crap that you offer. Please take my phone number off of your “sucker” list immediately or I will be forced to cancel ALL of my services and go home and read a book every night instead.
Thank you for your time.

So it appears that they’ll only call me every day for the next 3-6 months. Dare I say, “Mission Accomplished?”
I hate you Time Warner Cable..
